- Product warranty for your Streamvault appliance
  Your Streamvault™ appliance is covered by a 3-year standard hardware and software warranty, with an optional 2-year extension.
- Configuring the BIOS password
  To protect the data on your Streamvault™ appliance from unauthorized access, you must set a BIOS password.
- Changing the default iDRAC password
  If your Streamvault™ appliance supports iDRAC, it's recommended that you immediately change the default iDRAC password for the root user to prevent unauthorized access to your appliance.
- Adding a new iDRAC user with administrator privileges
  The iDRAC root user is well known and using it presents security risks, even if you’ve changed the default password. Therefore, it's recommended that you add a new user with administrator privileges to access iDRAC.
- Disabling the iDRAC root user
  If you created a new iDRAC user with administrator privileges, disable the root user to ensure that no one can log in with that username.
- Re-imaging a Streamvault appliance
  To re-image a Streamvault™ appliance, you need its Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity (COA) to determine which image can be used with the appliance. Each Streamvault appliance has a COA label affixed to it, which indicates the edition of Windows running on the appliance.

  The Windows 10 LTSC 2021 recovery image is suitable for all Streamvault™ SVR appliances that include a Windows 10 LTSC 2021 license. The image can also be used with SVA appliances.

About the Windows Server 2022 recovery image for the SV-1000E series and up

The Windows Server 2022 recovery image is suitable for all Streamvault™ SV-1000E, SV-2000E, SV-4000E, and SV-7000EX appliances.

Note the following about this recovery image:

This image is available in .iso format for Security Center versions 5.9 to 5.13.
This image is not suitable for systems shipped with SQL Standard or Enterprise. These systems must still use custom recovery images.
For systems with new image versions that support the Streamvault service (WS.2022.1), this is the recommended recovery image.
This image cannot be used to upgrade an appliance with a Windows Server 2019 image version (2019.C) to a newer version unless you have a valid Windows product key for the new operating system.
For systems with legacy image versions that do not support the Streamvault service (2022.1C), manufactured before January 2025, this recovery image is also an optional download.
CAUTION:
By default, if you use this recovery image, your system will have a stricter hardening profile than the legacy image. To match the hardening of the legacy image, select the Microsoft (only) hardening profile on the Security page of the SV Control Panel.
